Celebrity reacts to COVID-19 patients that were sent home due to lack of hospital utilities

Kapamilya actresses Alex Gonzaga and Pokwang reacted to the news that 4 COVID-19 patients in Quezon City were sent home all hospitals reached the limit.

The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the Philippines as of today has reached 396. The Health Department stated that among those patients, 18 have recovered while 33 have died due to the disease.

DOH Secretary Francisco Duque III said their agency needs some P2.35 billion to procure personal protective equipment (PPE) to protect the wearer from the deadly virus. Three doctors have died treating their patients.

Based on a report from Rappler, Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte said four (4) coronavirus patients were sent home due to lack of hospital beds. “In an ideal situation, all COVID positives should be in an institution, or institutionalized in a hospital, but the problem is that there’s really a lack of bed spaces in all our hospitals now,” she said.

Kapamilya stars Alex Gonzaga and Pokwang are among the people who expressed their concern over the news. The Youtube Star Tweeted that this action might prolong the quarantine period because the 4 infected patients could facilitate the spread of the virus.

“Nakakalungkot naman to watch an interview saying Covid patients are sent home because of lack of space sa facilities. We want this quarantine to end so people can get back on their feet na but with this kind of news from the authorities baka ma-prolong pa. Lord pls help us,” she Tweeted. 

As for the comedian, she expressed her concern for the people who will interact with the 4 COVID-19 patients. “E bakit hindi po gamitin ang Araneta Coliseum para doon pansamantala gamutin ang mga nag positibo sa virus? kesa pauwiin kawawa naman ang family nila lalo na kung may bata or matatanda? wala naman gagamit non at wala naman mag Co concert sa panahon na ito,” she posted.
